Jen Simbhudas had a strong showing against the Tigers, earning Iowa's best score in three events. On vault, Simbhudas tied for third with Nicole Lyons and Staci Schwitkis of LSU, scoring a 9.775. Moving to bars, Simbhudas earned a 9.725 for a fifth place finish and went on to place third on beam, scoring a 9.8. Simbhudas placed seventh on floor with a 9.6, earning a 38.9 in the all-around to finish third.

On vault, the Hawkeyes had other strong performances from Kara Pinjuv and Brandi Loffer, who earned scored of 9.65 and 9.625 to finish seventh and eighth, respectively. Freshman Houry Gebeshian and senior Katie Burke tied for ninth in the event with a 9.575.

In the second rotation, competing on bars, Iowa's next strongest performance after Simbhudas came from Gebeshian who scored 9.675 to finish seventh. Burke earned a 9.65 to finish eighth while Pinjuv scored 9.6 to finish ninth and Loffer finished tenth with a 9.45.

Moving on to beam, Gebeshian was again Iowa's next best performance after Simbhudas, earning a 9.75 to finish fifth. Loffer finished seventh with a 9.65 while Nikki Page finished ninth, scoring 9.125, and Pinjuv finished tenth with a 9.050.

Wrapping up on floor, Pinjuv had the highest score for Iowa, finishing sixth with a 9.675, while Simbhudas came in seventh with a 9.600. Other scores include Burke (9.575) finishing eighth, and Jenny Donar and Brandi Loffer tied for ninth (9.500).

Other all-around scores include Loffer finishing fourth (38.225), and Pinjuv finishing fifth (37.975).

Iowa will travel to Mount Pleasant, MI for next Friday's meet at Central Michigan. Competition is set to begin at 6 p.m. (CST).
