IOWA CITY - Iowa competed in the "quad meet" tonight with UW-Whitewater, Winona State, and Northern Illinois.  Iowa scored highest for team total on every event and placed first with a total score of 194.575, which is also Iowa's season best team score.

On vault, Kara Pinjuv posted the highest score for the Hawkeyes with a 9.8, while Katie Turcotte and Jenifer Simbhudas tied for second, scoring 9.775. On bars, Katie Burke had the best finish for Iowa with a 9.875 for first place. Kara Pinjuv and Ally Zipse tied for second with a 9.8, and Beth Dilick tied for fourth (9.75).

"We did a great job today, we improved, and that was our overall goal," said Pinjuv. Our improvement today will help us out for the rest of the season.

On beam, Burke placed first with a 9.825 while Pinjuv placed second with a 9.8, and Danielle Legeai placed third with a 9.7. On floor, Simbhudas came in first (9.85), while Pinjuv placed second (9.775), and Legeai finished third (9.675). In the all-around, Pinjuv won the event, scoring 39.175, while Burke placed second with a 39.025 and Katie Turcotte placed third with a 38.675.

"We are extremely pleased with how the team performed tonight," said Iowa Head Coach Larissa Libby. "After last week we went back and refocused on the little things and taking care of details instead of just winning."

Iowa will compete at Anchorage, AK, February 9th at 7 p.m., and February 11th at 2 p.m.
