Hawkeyes Place Second at Auburn

AUBURN, AL - The University of Iowa women's gymnastics team finished second Saturday in a triangular meet with No. 22 Auburn and No. 27 North Carolina. Iowa recorded a score of 194.325, just behind the host Tigers, who scored a 195.725. The Tarheels took third with a 194.225. The Hawkeyes scored best on the uneven bars, where Iowa recorded a 48.775. Hawkeye sophomore Romina Mazzoni tied for first on bars with a 9.80. Junior Kortny Williamson took third on the balance beam with a score of 9.80. In the all-around, Iowa's Annie Rue placed fifth with a 38.850. The Hawkeyes will return to action when they host the Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Championships, March 26.
