AMES, IA - No. 31 Iowa competed against 17th-ranked Iowa State and 16th-ranked Denver today. Iowa placed finished third with a score of 194.5 while Iowa State won the meet, scoring 196.75. Denver posted a total score of 195.7.

On vault, Kara Pinjuv tied for fourth with Heather Huffaker of Denver, with a score of 9.825. Jenifer Simbhudas tied for sixth with Nikki Dilbert of Iowa State, scoring 9.8.

On bars, Pinjuv had the best showing for Iowa, tying for ninth with Ellen McCarthy of Denver, scoring 9.775. Brandi Loffer placed 11th with a 9.7.

Pinjuv earned Iowa's best beam score with a 9.8 to tie for third place with McCarthy and Nikki Brown of Denver. Katie Turcotte tied for sixth with Dilbert of Iowa State, and Jessica Lopez of Denver, scoring 9.775.

Iowa's top floor competitors against Iowa State and Denver were Katie Burke and Simbhudas, tying for third place with Jasmine Thompson of Iowa State and Denver's Huffaker with a score of 9.9. Pinjuv tied for ninth with a score of 9.8.

In the all-around, Iowa State's Janet Anson placed first with a score of 39. 650 while her teammate Thompson placed second, scoring 39.325. Iowa's top all-around competitor was Pinjuv, placing fourth with a 39.2.

Iowa will compete at Big Ten Championships, March 31st, hosted by Penn State University. Competition is set to begin at 6 p.m. (CST).
