The University of Iowa soccer team welcomes Iowa State University Friday and the University of Northern Iowa Sunday. Friday's matchup will start at 7 p.m. and Sunday's will kickoff at 1 p.m.

Scouting the Opponents
Head Coach Wendy Dillinger is in her second season as head coach of the Cyclones. Dillinger is assisted by Tracey Grose and Ben Madsen. Iowa State is 4-0-3 this season.

Amanda Woelfel leads the Cyclones this season with three goals, followed by Casey Bothwell who has two.

Head Coach James Price is in his first season at UNI. He is assisted by Sonia Rodriguez, also in her first season.

The Panthers offense is led by Chelsie Hochstedler who has four of the team's 10 goals this season. Lauren Potzman is in goal for UNI. The sophomore has recorded 39 saves and two shutouts this season.

Series History
Iowa trails the Cyclones 4-5-2. The teams met in Ames last season, where the Hawkeyes defeated the Cyclones, 3-2.

Iowa leads Northern Iowa in the overall series 6-0. Iowa traveled to Cedar Falls last season to face the Panthers. The Hawkeyes won with a 2-0 decision.

Moran In Goal
Emily Moran recorded 12 saves in two games last weekend, an accomplishment that put her in fifth place on Iowa's all-time career saves list with 103.

The sophomore recorded 74 saves in her freshman campaign and has 29 this season. Moran is averaging just over four saves a game.

Adding to her resume, Moran and the Iowa defense have held three teams scoreless this season. Shutouts were posted against Montana (2-0), South Dakota State (2-0) and Wisconsin-Milwaukee (4-0).

Mottershead Is Big Ten Player of the Week
Alyscha Mottershead earned Big Ten Offensive and Freshman Player of the Week awards for her efforts last weekend in Iowa's wins against Loyola-Chicago and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The freshman played a big role in Iowa's wins, scoring three of Iowa's eight goals and recording one assist.

Freshmen Score
Alyscha Mottershead and Katherine Lewis both recorded their first collegiate goals last weekend.

Mottershead's goal came in the 16th minute against Loyola-Chicago. Mandy Heimann found Mottershead just inside the six-yard box, where the freshman capitalized on the pass and found the net. Mottershead also scored a second goal in Iowa's win.

Lewis outworked two Wisconsin-Milwaukee defenders and the goalkeeper for a header goal in the 74th minute. Lewis was assisted by Mottershead and Jenna Aleo.

Iowa in Big Ten Rankings
Iowa moved up in the conference rankings after two big wins. The Hawkeyes are now second in goals scored this season with 18. The team trails Purdue by one goal.

The team is also third in goals per game, averaging 2.57 goals per match. The Hawkeyes remain in fourth place for assist percentage, recording 15 in seven games.

Friday Night Tailgate At Iowa
The Big Ten Network announced the Friday Night Tailgate program will be broadcast live from the Iowa Soccer Complex Friday night. The live broadcast will begin at 7:30 (CT) in HD.

Mike Hall and crew preview the conference's football games for the weekend in addition to exploring the host campus.

The Iowa football team takes on Arizona Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for shortly after 2:30 p.m.

Hawkeyes on the BTN
The Hawkeyes will make their lone appearance on the Big Ten Network on October 4 when they entertain Wisconsin at 1 p.m.

Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series
This meeting marks the third event in the annual Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk series. Iowa is currently leading the intra-state rivalry 3-2, with Iowa winning the football game (35-3) and Iowa State winning the volleyball match (3-1). Iowa won the title last year.

Up Next For Iowa
The Hawkeyes travel to Minnesota Sept. 24. The Gophers have been in and out of NCAA rankings this season, previously ranked No. 23 last week.

After one game on the road, Iowa continues it's home town campaign. The Hawkeyes host Drake Sept. 30.
