Freeman to Compete at World Cup Synchronized Diving Trials

Former Hawkeye will compete on the 3-meter synchronized springboard

Iowa Items -- Best scores on one-meter (338.55) and three-meter (407.40) rank first in school history.

2010-11 -- 2010-11 -- Set school records in the one-meter (338.55) and three-meter (407.88) at the Big Ten Championships... earned All-America honors for her efforts on the one and three-meter boards at the NCAA Championships...placed third on the one-meter (388.55) and second on the three-meter (407.40) at the Big Ten Championships... her recorded setting score on the three-meter (407.40) replaced All-American and Olympic diver Nancilea Underwood's record of 400.05... placed fourth on the one-meter (592.45) and seventh on the three-meter (622.75) to qualify for the NCAA Championships... finished 15th on the one-meter (286.30) and 10th on the three-meter (370.65) at the NCAA Championships... placed fourth on three-meter synchro with Hawkeye teammate Veronica Rydze and seventh on the individual one-meter at 2011 U.S. Diving Nationals... placed eighth on three-meter synchro with Rydze and 13th on the individual one-meter at the World Championship Trials... won the three-meter synchroized diving event with Rydze at the Big Ten Championships... qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials on the three-meter synchronized event with Rydze... recorded nine first-place finishes... named to the Academic all-Big Ten team... letterwinner.

2008-09 -- Led team on one-meter (300.90) and three-meter (330.98)... those scores rank fourth and third, respectively, in school history... earned team's high point award at Big Ten Championships, placing eighth on three-meter (301.65) and 12th on one-meter (253.50)... placed 10th on one-meter (261.25) and 11th on three-meter (251.95) at NCAA Qualifier... named Big Ten Women's Diver of the Week Nov. 11 for her wins at Minnesota... swept one and three-meter events four times... posted seven wins on one-meter and six wins on three-meter... academic all-Big Ten... placed seventh on three-meter synchro with Hawkeye teammate Veronica Rydze and 10th on individual three-meter at 2009 U.S. Diving Nationals... won high point award at 2009 National Preliminary Zone C meet, tallying 55 points... won one-meter, three-meter synchro with Rydze and placed third on three-meter at Zone meet... letterwinner.

High School -- State runner-up as a senior, placing fourth as a junior... three-time conference champion... three-time all-state, all-district, all-conference and team MVP... two-time conference athlete of the year and team captain... set school records for six dives (264.10) and 11 dives (491.25)... the 11-dive score ranked third in Iowa high school history... lettered four years in softball, three in soccer and one in track... soccer team MVP senior year... honorable mention all-state and second team all-conference in softball.. only catcher named first team elite all-state senior year... academic all-state and all-conference... four-year honor roll student... Personal -- Born Aug. 26, 1988... daughter of Will and Evelyn Freeman... father was an All-American pole vaulter at the University of Florida and is the men's track and cross country coach at Grinnell College... mother represented Canada in the high jump at two Olympic Trials and is the women's track and cross country coach at Grinnell... religion and African-American studies major.
