THE STAFF

The culture surrounding the University of Iowa swimming and diving program has changed with the completion of the state-of-the-art Campus Recreation and Wellness Center. The consistency with the coaching staff, however, has remained, as Marc Long and company are entering their fourth year as a collective unit.

UI head coach Marc Long has coached the Hawkeyes to 36 school records during his tenure in Iowa City.

It all starts at the top with Long, a UI alum, who is entering his eighth season as the head coach and 12th overall with the program. Associate head coach/recruiting coordinator Frannie Malone has been along side Long in each of his eight seasons, while Kirk Hampleman (6th year) and Nathan Mundt (4th year) round out the staff.

Bob Rydze, the dean of Big Ten coaches, serves as the program's diving coach. The 36-year coaching veteran has coached four Olympians and 18 All-Americans in his career.
