Iowa Falls to No. 71 DePaul, 5-2

CHICAGO -- The University of Iowa women's tennis team fell to the No. 71 Blue Demons of DePaul, 5-2, this afternoon at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness. "DePaul is a very good team. They defeated No. 35 Utah yesterday so we knew this would be a good test. We competed well in spots but were out matched today," said head coach Katie Dougherty. Junior Ruth Seaborne improved to 4-0 this season with a three-set win at the No. 1 position. Seaborne topped No. 112 Matea Cutura, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9, to earn her second-straight victory over a ranked opponent. Christina Harazin also earned a victory over a ranked opponent, topping No. 119 Jarret Fisher 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, at the No. 5 position. Iowa lost the doubles point for the first time this season. DePaul handed Iowa a pair of 8-3 losses at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. The Hawkeyes return to the court Saturday, Feb. 16, when they host a double-header at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. Iowa hosts Drake at 11 a.m. and Western Illinois at 3:30 p.m. Doubles Singles
