BATON ROUGE, La. - The University of Iowa women's tennis team fell 6-1 against No. 55 LSU (6-6 overall, 3-1 SEC) Wednesday at W.T. "Dub" Robinson Stadium. The Hawkeyes dropped to 2-8 overall on the season and 1-5 in road matches.

LSU, 3-2 at home this season, earned the doubles point by sweeping all three matches.

In singles, the Hawkeyes received an upset victory from junior Sonja Molnar. Molnar, the No. 114 player in the country, topped No. 56 Whitney Wolf 7-5, 7-5 at the No. 1 position. The win was Molnar's first victory over a ranked opponent this season and her third straight win overall. She is now 7-3 in dual matches this year.

Iowa will play again Friday versus Tulane at Goldring Stadium. Action will begin at noon (CST).
