THE HAWKEYES-- Meg Racette is ranked 21st in preseason rankings, the highest an Iowa player has ever been ranked, and Mili Veselinovic is ranked 93rd in preseason rankings.

THE COMPETITION -- The 44th ranked Hawkeyes will face players from #6 Northwestern, #48 New Mexico, #50 Florida State, and Penn State.

LAST MEET -- The Hawkeyes competed at the Hurricane Fall Invitational in Coral Gables, FL, November 11-13. Meg Racette posted a 3-0 tournament mark, while Mili Veselinovic and Hillary Mintz both posted 2-1 tournament records. In doubles competition, Iowa posted a team record of 3-5.

HEAD COACH Daryl Greenan--Coach Greenan is in his second season as head coach for the Hawkeyes. He led the Hawkeyes to a 14-10 overall record in 2005, going 8-4 in Big Ten competition for a fourth place finish in the conference. Toni Neykova is the assistant coach and begins her fourth season with the Hawkeyes.

QUOTING HEAD COACH Daryl Greenan -- "Meg and Millie had some good tournament wins in the fall. Their current National Rankings are exciting and they bring some confidence and inspiration for our whole team. Our team ranking moved up from last year, and with some key returners and strong new additions we hope to climb higher. The invitational tournament at Northwestern this weekend is going to jumpstart our season. There will be plenty of strong competition to get us ready for our first dual matches January 27th and 29th against Marquette and Baylor."
