This Week: The Iowa women's tennis team travels to Purdue Saturday. Competition is set to begin at 10 a.m. The Hawkeyes then take on Illinois Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m.

In the Rankings: The Hawkeyes are 38th in the ITA Rankings. The rankings changed this week from being voted on by every member of the ITA Regional Committee to a computer ranking.

The Boilermakers: The Boilermakers are 45th in the nation. They hold a 6-6 record. Purdue had a key win over No. 28 Illinois, and has losses to No. 26 Tennessee and No. 18 Kentucky. Purdue's Hala Sufi earned Big Ten Player of the Week accolades last week.

The Fighting Illini: The Fighting Illini are ranked 28th with an 8-3 record. Key wins for Illinois were against No. 23 Notre Dame, No. 24 Harvard and No. 26 Tennessee. The Illini's only loss against a top-25 team was against No. 7 Washington. Senior Jennifer McGaffigan is ranked 34th in singles, and 9th in doubles with partner Cynthya Goulet. McGaffigan has earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors this season, as has teammate Emily Wang.

Last Time Out: The Hawkeyes were defeated by No. 23 Notre Dame, 6-1. The doubles duo of Meg Racette and Hillary Mintz defeated the 37th-ranked doubles team. In singles, Chelsea Glynn defeated Lauren Connelly at the No. 4 spot.

Quoting Coach Wardlaw: "We'll have two tough Big Ten matches this weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing how our players respond to the pressures of important matches and how we deal with playing on the road. We'll need to play disciplined, high percentage tennis for the weekend to be productive."
