This Week: The Iowa women's tennis team hosts Michigan Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. On Sunday, the Hawkeyes will take on Michigan State at 10 a.m. Weather-permitting, competition will be held at Klotz Tennis Courts. Otherwise, action will take place at the UI Recreation Building.

In the Rankings: The Hawkeyes move up three spots to 35th in the ITA Rankings. The rankings are determined by a computer rating system.

The Wolverines: The Wolverines are ranked 20th with a 21-1 record. Michigan's only loss came against Alabama. Freshman Elizabeth Exon is ranked 72nd in the nation. In doubles, the team of Michelle DaCosta and Kara Delicata is 30th and the duo of Kim Plaushines and Debra Streifler is 32nd.

The Spartans: The Spartans have a 6-8 mark. They have victories over Penn State, Florida A&M, Ball State, Miami (OH), Toldeo and Bowling Green. Keri Thompson is the top player for Michigan State.

Last Weekend: The Hawkeyes went 1-1 over the weekend. Iowa won against Purdue, 5-2, but lost to 28th-ranked Illinois, 6-1.

Quoting Coach Wardlaw: "We're excited to play a home match again after spending March on the road. The team is playing well right now and will need to continue to do so against two very good teams from Michigan. Hopefully we'll have a good crowd to watch one of the most exciting teams we've had in years."
