THIS WEEK -- The University of Iowa women's tennis team will host Wisconsin, Saturday, and Northwestern, Sunday.  Competition will take place at the West Campus Tennis-Recreation Center on the University of Iowa campus and is set to begin at 10 a.m. both days.

THE HAWKEYES -- The Hawkeyes are currently ranked 40th, with a 12-3 record, including 4-0 against Big Ten opponents. Individually, Meg Racette is ranked No. 33 in singles. Jacqueline Lee is on a 13-match winning streak and posts a spring record of 14-1. Others expected to compete for the Hawkeyes are, Merel Beelen, Kayla Berry, Krissy Dowlin, Hillary Mintz, and Mili Veselinovic.

THE COMPETITION -- Wisconsin posts a 4-13 record including a 1-4 mark against Big Ten opponents. Northwestern is currently ranked sixth with a 13-3 record, including 5-0 in Big Ten play. Senior Cristelle Grier is ranked ninth in singles rankings and freshman Georgia Rose is ranked 36th.

LAST TIME VS. WISCONSIN -- Iowa traveled to Wisconsin in 2005, and defeated the Badgers, 4-3. Meg Racette topped Katie McGaffigan, winning 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(6) while Hillary Mintz blanked Caitlin Burke with a score of 6-0, 6-0.

LAST TIME VS. NORTHWESTERN -- Iowa was defeated by Northwestern in Evanston, IL, in 2005, 7-0.

LAST MEET -- Iowa hosted Michigan State and Michigan last week. Iowa defeated Michigan State, 6-1, and then went on to upset Michigan, 5-2. Jacqueline Lee won both singles matches, bringing her winning streak to 13 and improving her spring record to 14-1.

HEAD COACH Daryl Greenan -- Coach Greenan is in his second season as head coach for the Hawkeyes. He led the Hawkeyes to a 14-10 overall record in 2005, going 8-4 in Big Ten competition for a fourth place finish in the conference. Greenan has a 26-13 overall record in two seasons at Iowa. Toni Neykova is the assistant coach and begins her fourth season with the Hawkeyes.
