IOWA CONCLUDES REGULAR SEASON
The Hawkeyes close out the regular season this weekend with a pair of home matches at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. On Friday, Iowa squares off with No. 34 Ohio State (16-7, 6-3) at 3 p.m. (CT). The Hawkeyes return to the HTRC on Sunday for a 10 a.m. (CT) matchup with Penn State (5-16, 1-8). Sunday is also senior day. There will be free gold Hawkeye sweatbands given away to the first 50 fans in attendance.
SEABORNE NAMED BIG TEN ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Senior Ruth Seaborne was named Big Ten Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after her performance at No. 42 Illinois and No. 12 Northwestern last weekend. The weekly conference honor is the second of Seaborne's career and the second this season. She was previously recognized on March 18. "I can't say enough about Ruth Seaborne and what she has meant to this program the past two years," said UI head coach Katie Dougherty. "She's been a rock at the top of our singles and doubles line-ups. She is a great competitor and a great example of what it means to be a successful student-athlete." Seaborne holds an overall record of 20-7 this year, posting a 14-5 dual record and a 7-2 mark against Big Ten opponents.
"This is a big weekend for us. Ohio State has been coming on very strong these past couple of weeks and Penn State is a dangerous team. The Illinois win was huge for our confidence, we not only stopped a losing skid, but we beat a quality top-45 opponent. Our doubles has gotten better every week and will be crucial for us this weekend. We want to maintain that momentum going into the Big Ten Tournament next weekend."
SEABORNE AND McCULLOCH AMONG BIG TEN'S BEST DUO'S
Iowa's top doubles team of senior Ruth Seaborne and junior Morven McCulloch post an overall record of 20-6 this year while going 14-3 during the dual season. The duo is 7-1 in conference play and is 9-1 in their last 10 matches. On April 13, Seaborne and McCulloch suffered their first conference loss of the season against No. 29 Veronica Corning and Alicia Barnett of Northwestern.

On April 13, Dohanics picked up her eleventh win of the dual season with a victory over No. 12 Northwestern's Maddie Lipp, 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). Dohanics is 4-0 at the No. 5 singles position, and 5-2 in all matches that involve a tiebreaker set.
