The Hawkeyes will face players from Alabama, Mississippi State, Florida State, Memphis, Birmingham Southern, Samford, South Alabama, Auburn University - Montgomery, Southern Illinois, Georgia Southern, and Louisiana - Monroe.
The Hawkeyes finished 2005 with a 14-10 overall record and advanced to the NCAA regional tournament. Iowa had a 8-4 Big Ten mark to finish fourth in the conference. The Hawkeyes advanced to the semi-finals of the Big Ten Tournament.
Meet The Hawkeyes
This year's team is composed of two juniors, two sophomores, and three freshmen.
Sophomore Milicia Veselinovic returns with the top winning percentage. Last season she finished 30-6 overall with a 10-1 Big Ten record.
Meg Racette had a successful sophomore campaign, going 19-16 overall and 8-4 in Big Ten play. In addition, Racette was named to the all-Big Ten team.
Junior Hillary Mintz returns after playing consistenty at the No. 2 position. Mintz finished last season with a 21-13 overall record, and 6-6 in the Big Ten.
Sophomore Jacqueline Lee finished 2005 with a 15-8 overall record and 7-4 in Big Ten play while competing at the No. 5 and 6 positions.
This season's recruiting class is comprised of Merel Beelen, Kayla Berry, and Krissy Dowlin. Beelen is originally from Grubbenvorst, Holland. Berry joins the Hawkeyes from Brisbane, Australia, while Dowlin comes from Panmure, Australia.
The Roberta Alison Fall Classic has five singles flights and two flights of doubles. Here is the projected Hawkeye lineup:
