    AUBURN, AL - The University of Iowa women's track team competed at the Auburn Tiger Classic, Saturday. Seniors Tammilee Kerr and junior Renee White regionally qualified in the javelin and triple jump respectively. Kerr placed second with a toss of 153-6, while White was fourth with a jump of 40-11.

    "We had a good solid performance at Auburn," Head Coach Layne Anderson said. "We had a couple regional qualifiers and that is great to see."

    The 400-meter relay finished fifth with a time of 45.78, missing the regional qualifying mark by .08. The team was composed of White, Kineke Alexander, Kerr and Rhonda-Kaye Trusty.

    Senior Monica Mims set a career-best in the 400 meters with a time of 56.46 while senior Erin O'Hern had a career-best toss of 168-9 in the weight throw, placing fifth. Trusty missed a career-best time in the 100 meters by .01. She placed ninth with a time of 12.05.

    In the 1,500 meters, Sarah Henize finished with a second place time of 4:32.92, while junior Krista Anderson set a career-best in third with a time of 4:36.76. Freshmen Lauren Hardesty (4:41.70) and Amanda Hardesty (4:46.84) placed sixth and ninth respectively to round-out the top ten for the Hawkeyes.

    PALO ALTO, CA - Senior Jessica Schmidt was the only Hawkeye to compete at the Stanford Invite on Saturday. She regionally qualified in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 10:32.50, her previous best stood at 11:03.50.

    "We had a near perfect weekend out here at Stanford," Anderson said. "We are still improving and building toward the upcoming conference meet. Overall, we had a very successful weekend."

    The Hawkeyes will compete at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, AZ and at the Lee Calhoun Memorial in Macomb, IL, April 11-12.
