Alexander Is All-American

SACRAMENTO, CA - Hawkeye junior Kineke Alexander picked up her sixth all-America honor Saturday at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, CA. The Glenside, St. Vincent and The Grenadines native, placed sixth in the women's 400 meters with a time of 52.13. The women's 400 meters will be a strong event next season as six of the eight finalists were juniors.By earning her sixth award, Alexander tied Iowa's school record for most all-America honors earned in a career. Former Hawkeye distance runner Nan Doak also earned six all-America honors from 1982-85. Alexander is the only Hawkeye in school history to earn all six of her honors in the same event. Alexander is the fourth Hawkeye to earn all-America honors at the 2007 national outdoor meet. Seniors Adam Hamilton (hammer throw) and Peaches Roach (high jump), and junior Diane Nukuri (10,000 meters) were also all-Americans. SATURDAY'S MEET RESULTS
