Jace Smith

TitleVideo Coordinator

Jace Smith is in his second season as the video coordinator for the University of Iowa men's basketball program.

During his first season at Iowa, the Hawkeyes won 24 games and advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1987.  Iowa defeated three higher seeded teams -- No. 8 Clemson, No. 1 Florida and No. 4 Nebraska as it became the lowest seeded Big Ten team to ever reach the Elite Eight.

Smith came to Iowa City with five years of video coordinator experience, serving in the role at Wyoming (2020-24) and Drake (2024-25).

During the 2024-25 campaign, Smith served as the remote video coordinator at Drake -- a season where where the Bulldogs won 31 games and claimed the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles.  The team also upset sixth-seeded Missouri to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Smith got his start in the video coordinator world at Wyoming, where he first worked with Iowa assistant coach Bryston Williams.

The Powell, Wyoming, native graduated from Wyoming in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and health promotion and a master's from the school in 2024.
