Hawkeyes to Play in All-American Intercollegiate

THIS WEEK
The University of Iowa men’s golf team is set to compete in the All-American Intercollegiate hosted by Houston. The tournament takes place at Golf Club of Houston on March 18-19th.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The 54-hole tournament tees off on Monday and concludes Tuesday with 54-holes being played through two days. The tournament time is yet to be announced.

THE FIELD
The Hawkeyes will be competing in a 20-team field that features one ranked opponent; Arkansas State, Baylor, Cincinnati, Houston (x2), Iowa State, Kansas, Lamar, Louisiana, Memphis, Rice, Sam Houston, Southern Mississippi, Texas State, No. 14 Texas Tech, University of Nevada Las Vegas,University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, University of Texas at San Antonio, and Yale.

Houston, Cincinnati, Kansas, Baylor and Texas Tech all qualified for NCAA regionals last spring. Baylor and Texas tech advanced to the NCAA championships.

THE COURSE
Host of the Houston Open, this Rees Jones and David Toms designed course features well-manicured fairways, expertly crafted greens and strategic bunkers, making it challenging yet enjoyable to play. Natural beauty surrounds you, with native plants and wildlife adding to a sense of serenity and solitude, all just minutes from downtown Houston.

SENIOR LEADERS
Four seniors provide leadership to the Hawkeye roster this year. Mac McClear chose to return for his fifth season as well as graduate transfer Josh Lundmark. Callum Macfie and Felipe Pedraza are fourth year seniors.

“We’re ready to put our last tournament behind us and move forward. We have four tournaments remaining and the Big Ten Championship. Our spring goals are still within reach. It’s always exciting traveling to new tournaments for the first time. We have a few extra days on site to prepare and develop the best strategy on the course.”

LOOKING AHEAD
The Hawkeyes will travel to Naples, Fla. to host the Calusa Cup at Calusa Pines Golf Club. The 54-hole tournament will take place April 7-9th.
