Iowa Travels to Florida for Big Ten Invitational

University of Iowa rowing travels to Sarasota, Florida on April 19, for the Big Ten Invitational. Iowa will begin competing on Friday at 8:50 a.m. (CT) at Nathan Benderson Park.

THE FIELD: BIG TEN INVITATIONAL
Iowa will face against a stacked field including four of the nation’s top-20 teams via the latest edition of the CRCA Pocock Poll (No. 9 Michigan, No. 13 Duke, No. 15 Rutgers, No. 16 Indiana).

ABOUT THE HAWKEYES
– Iowa reached new heights in the 2023 Championship season totaling 17 outright victories.
– Iowa’s Varsity Eight earned Big 10 Boat of the Week on April 16, 2024.
– This honor marks the 18th time in school history that the program has brought home a weekly honor from the conference office. It was the first since April 18, 2023.
– The Hawkeyes collected a season-high 12 wins at the Big Ten/Big 12 Invite over Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, and Oklahoma.
– Placed fifth at the 2023 Big Ten Championships for the second consecutive season earning 90 points, 15 more points from the previous year.
– The Hawkeyes finished 20th in the CRCA Pocock Final Poll for the first time since 2019.
– Senior, Abbey Klostermann was named to the 2023 All-District Women’s At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, which recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.
– Had three All-Big Ten selections in 2023.

Iowa received votes in the past four weeks of the CRCA Pocock Poll.

LAST TIME OUT: B1G/B12 DOUBLE DUAL
The Hawkeyes won 12-of-14 races against Big Ten and Big 12 teams in Kansas City, Kansas. Their fastest boat came from the V8 finishing with a time of 6:54.16.
