Hawkeyes Tied for 7th After Round 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Iowa men’s golf team concluded round one of play at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio State, at OSU Scarlet Course on Friday. The Hawkeyes are in a tie for seventh place at nine-over par (293). Kent State leads the field at three-over par (287) trailed by Purdue and South Dakota State at five-over par (289).

Senior Mac McClear is tied for 14th at one-over par (72). Kent carded a bogey free one-under par on his front nine before shooting two-over on the back nine. Tied with McClear at one-over par is sophomore Hogan Hansen. Hansen’s two birdies on the back nine propelled him into a tie for 14th.

Freshman Noah Kent is sitting at two-over par in a tie for 24th. Kent shot even par on the back nine after carding two-over on the front nine.

Tyler Seeling of South Dakota State leads the individual field at four-under par.
