Hawkeyes Travel to UNI

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa softball team travels to Cedar Falls, Iowa for its final nonconference matchup on Wednesday to take on Northern Iowa.

The Hawkeyes enter the contest with a 16-26 record and the Panthers come into the contest with a 28-15 record. UNI enter the matchup on a nine-game winning streak and Iowa comes in dropping its last 14 games.

As a team, UNI is hitting .264 and its pitching staff has a 4.25 ERA. They are led by Alexis Pupillo with a .350 batting average, 49 RBIs and 16 home runs. Samantha Heyer has picked up 15 wins in the circle and carries a 2.01 ERA.

Overall, the Hawkeyes are hitting .257 as a team. The Iowa pitching staff has a 3.28 ERA. Rylie Moss leads the team with a .390 batting average. Soo-Jin Berry leads the team with 25 RBIs followed by Sammy Diaz with 20. Jalen Adams has thrown 144 innings for the Hawkeyes and has a 2.62 ERA, ninth in the Big Ten.

Iowa leads the all-time series with UNI, 32-19. The Panthers defeated the Hawkeyes last season, 4-2, in Iowa City.
